Scott was born in Bluffton, Ohio.  He is the fifth of six children born to Keith and Evelyn Brewster.  Scott graduated from Arlington High School in 1974.  He attended Winona State University, Winona, MN where he studied sociology.

In August 1976 he met Kala Naus, daughter of John and Elizabeth Naus and they were married in December 1977.  Scott, Kala, their daughter, Corina, and son, Benjamin, were all actively involved at Central when they left for Johnson Bible College in 1988.  Scott graduated from Johnson Bible College in May 1992. He began an interim ministry in Somerset, KY in January before graduation.  After several months they asked him to become the full-time pastor.  The family moved to Somerset in June following graduation.

Scott continued to take graduate courses at Johnson Bible College and graduated with his Masters in Exposition & Preaching in 1993.  He held an 8-year ministry with Southern Heights Christian Church in Somerset, KY.  He accepted the call to Central and became the ministry on December 31, 2000.  Scott celebrated 10-years in the ministry this year.

In January of 2002, Central sent Scott to Cambodia for a month to help LaVerne Morse, a missionary that Central supports.  During this trip the group saw over 50 people come to the Lord in Christian baptism.

While preaching is Scott's passion, he also enjoys sculpting in clay and woodcarving and running.

Kala is involved in many areas at Central.  She enjoys art and uses her talents creating set designs for various programs.  She creates media projection program slides for worship, participates in the F.L.O.W. team to plan Sunday morning worship and sings on a praise team.

Cori, their daughter, graduated from University of Kentucky with a degree in Family Environmental Sciences.  She resides in Findlay and with her husband Jon and son Hunter.  She is actively involved in the worship ministry and plays keyboard for Sunday worship.

Ben, their son, is pursuing residency in Pediatric Surgery.  He currently resides in Lexington, KY.
