In
August 1976 he met Kala Naus, daughter of John and Elizabeth Naus and they
were married in December 1977. Scott, Kala, their daughter, Corina, and
son, Benjamin, were all actively involved at Central when they left for
Johnson Bible College in 1988. Scott graduated from
Johnson
Bible
College
in May 1992. He began an interim ministry in
Somerset,
KY in January before graduation. After several months
they asked him to become the full-time pastor. The family moved to
Somerset in June following graduation.
Scott
continued to take graduate courses at
Johnson
Bible College and graduated with his Masters in Exposition & Preaching in
1993. He held an 8-year ministry with Southern Heights Christian Church
in Somerset, KY. He accepted the call to Central and became the ministry
on December 31, 2000. Scott celebrated 10-years in the ministry this
year.
In January of
2002, Central sent Scott to Cambodia for a month to help LaVerne Morse, a
missionary that Central supports. During this trip the group saw
over 50 people come to the Lord in Christian baptism.
While
preaching is Scott's passion, he also enjoys sculpting in clay and
woodcarving and running.
Kala
is involved in many areas at Central. She enjoys art and uses her talents
creating set designs for various programs. She creates media projection
program slides for worship, participates in the F.L.O.W. team to plan
Sunday morning worship and sings on a praise team.
Cori,
their daughter, graduated from
University of
Kentucky
with a degree in Family Environmental Sciences. She resides in Findlay
and with her husband Jon and son Hunter. She is actively involved in the
worship ministry and plays keyboard for Sunday worship.
Ben, their son, is
pursuing residency in Pediatric Surgery. He currently resides in
Lexington, KY.
