Jill Silvers
Jill was born in a
suburb of Detroit, Michigan to Michael and Lynn
Silvers. When Jill was just a year old, her father accepted a
job in Findlay and the family moved out of the big
city. They began attending Central Church of
Christ and since then the Central family has been
an important part of Jill’s life.

Jill
graduated from Van Buren High School in 2004. Following high school, she
attended Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio. While at Bluffton, Jill
was involved in many campus activities such as singing in the worship band
for chapel and a women’s choir, leading hall bible studies as a hall
chaplain, and throwing discus and javelin on the track team. Jill
decided to major in social work because she has a passion to help others.
She graduated in 2008 with a BA in Social Work and shortly after became a
licensed social worker in Ohio.
Jill
returned to Findlay and accepted a position as a service coordinator at a
non-profit agency called Help Me Grow. She provides support to families
who are expecting a child and/or have a child birth to age three.
Jill has
always enjoyed being with youth of all ages. Whether it was helping in
the church nursery, being a group leader at VBS, spending a summer working
at a church camp, or staying up all night at a teen lock-in, she has had
all kinds of awesome experiences with youth. She began helping with the
Jr/Sr high youth groups more regularly when she moved back to Findlay
after college. When the opportunity came in December of 2008 that the
group needed a leader, Jill felt God calling her to step into this
ministry and became Interim Youth Director.
Outside
of work and being with youth, Jill enjoys singing, doing outdoor
activities such as camping, hiking and wakeboarding, working out in Zumba
classes, learning the countries of Africa and watching musicals such as
Singin’ in the Rain.
