We believe
the Bible to be the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe
that there is one true and holy God, who has eternally existed in three
persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord
Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His atoning death through His shed
blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the
Father, and in His personal return. We believe that the Holy Spirit is
coequal with the Father and the Son in all the divine attributes. He
enlightens the minds of sinners, awakens in them recognition of their need
of a Savior and regenerates them. He is promised to those who have heard
that the Savior has come, believe Jesus is the Son of God and can save them,
are convinced they have need of forgiveness, desire to do what God wants,
and are immersed in the name of Jesus. At the point of salvation, He
permanently indwells every believer and equips him or her for personal
growth and service to the church. The Spirit is a divine guarantee that
seals the believer until the day of redemption.
We believe
that the central purpose of God’s revelation in Scripture is to call all
people into fellowship with Him. God originally created humans to have
fellowship with Him and to glorify Him, but they defied God by choosing
their own way. As a result, man suffered alienation from God and the
corruption of his nature. The salvation of mankind, therefore, is wholly a
work of God’s free grace, not in the result in whole or in part of human
works or goodness. This salvation is a gift, made available through faith in
Jesus Christ and Him only
We
believe that there is one body, the
Church. The Holy Spirit places all who put their trust in Jesus in this
spiritual body. The Scripture tells believers that it is imperative to
gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the
word, observance of the ordinances, fellowship, and service to the body and
outreach to the world.
We
believe in the resurrection of both the
saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and
they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We
believe in the spiritual unity of
believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not the only Christians, but we
are Christians only.
